‘CLICrocker Glass’ rocking chair by Alexander Pelikan
Alexander Pelikan has combined clear glass and bamboo in a limited edition rocking chair illustrating what he calls the power of “digital craftsmanship”, part of a series titled CLICFURNITURE.
Pelikan’s glass and wood CLICFURNITURE was first shown at the Design/Miami show in 2008, this is CLICLOUNGE“The connection of bamboo and extra clear glass became only possible by working together with expert craftsmen who were not afraid of pushing the limits of their trade. Surprising comfort and material beauty go hand in hand in this chair.” says Pelikan. “Craft and digital manufacturing go hand in hand. The sitting plank and the backrest are produced from a caramel colored (heat treated for extra durability) bamboo plate material of the best quality. Only the cooperation with a water jet cutter made the production possible.”
CLICrocker Glass will be shown at TuttoBeNe at Arsenale during Milan Design Week in April 2013.
